Mary's Meals is more than a charity. It's a global movement of people working together to ensure every child receives a daily meal in their place of education.

Across Canada, volunteers are helping to grow awareness and support for Mary's Meals in their schools, churches, workplaces and communities. As a volunteer leader, you can play an important role in helping us reach even more people.

Recent research by Mary’s Meals has shown that daily school meals improve a child’s education and
academic achievement by lowering their level of hunger, while increasing their overall energy,
engagement, and aspiration to learn. We also found that daily school meals help the children we serve
get better grades and improve their chances of going on to higher education.

One of our most recent examples of the many volunteers across Canada who utilize their skills and passions to help feed hungry children.

Across Zambia, hundreds of volunteers rise early with the sun to prepare and serve meals to children
across the country. Mary’s Meals’ work would not be possible without their commitment to the school
feeding program, and their dedication to giving children hope of a brighter future.

By providing meals for more than 3 million children at their place of education, the global school feeding charity Mary’s Meals is putting this year’s World Hunger Day call to action into practice: “The End of Hunger is in Our Hands.”

Today (Thursday, March 12, 2026), Mary’s Meals will serve more than 3 million school meals to children living in 16 of the world’s poorest countries. And tomorrow, again, more than 3 million children will receive a nutritious meal in their place of education.
