TESSA

Teresa Trask [Tessa] is a Singer/Songwriter driven by her social conscience, using music to give voice to those who have suffered and who desire peace. Her honest lyrics and rhythmic melodies create an expression of humanity that we can all identify with, as her songs deliver a sense of joy and hope to the everyday struggle we must all embrace.

For over 20 years Tessa has been a singer/songwriter and has worked with many artists throughout those years including well known worship artists David Ruis & Brian Doerksen. She regularly tours as part of The SHIYR Poets band, and released her first solo album One Kiss in 2018, which received a GMA Album of the Year Nomination! After the release of the One Kiss album she was asked to give a feature interview for Raspberry Magazine’s fall issue, and her first single from that album Love Came has received regular play on several radio stations across Canada.

While touring with Brian Doerksen and The SHIYR Poets, she has had the opportunity to facilitate many workshops and classes in the areas of Justice and the Arts, Songwriting, and Vocal Techniques. By sharing her passion and experience in these areas, she has inspired and mentored many young singer/songwriters along the way. Tessa is committed to giving back to the community by using the power of music to create positive, lasting change. Her music has been a source of comfort and support to women in addiction treatment programs, mental health facilities, and correctional Institutions throughout Canada, as she provides a cathartic musical outlet for those who have been marginalized and struggle to find their place in society. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Lifehaven Women’s Support Society, a charity dedicated to providing critical supports to women who have completed an addiction treatment program and are needing assistance transitioning back into the community. She is passionate about empowering women who have suffered trauma or abuse, who have been homeless and forced into a life of prostitution, or who wrestle with ongoing mental health issues, to find a healthy, fulfilling path back into the community.
